[:it]Portici & Caruggi, Turin and Genoa united in an evening of mixology[:]

[:en]Turin and Genoa do not stop in front of the fear of these difficult days and come together to create an evening dedicated to mixology and Ligurian gastronomic traditions.

The appointment is for Wednesday 4 March starting from 7pm Related Resale2, in Piazza della Repubblica in Turin: the venue is ready to host the colleagues of the Gradisca Café of Genoa to kick off “Portici & Caruggi”, a moment dedicated to the union between the two capitals, focused on drinking well and food pairing.

Davide Pinto, owner of Affini, explained this initiative as a sign of collaboration and closeness: teaming up by enhancing their respective excellences to overcome together the moment of economic difficulties that the Coronavirus has brought to both cities, hitting the small entrepreneurial activities, in particular public places.

The protagonist of the evening will be Taggiasco ExtravirGIn, the gin created with the historian's Taggiasca olives Roi oil mill of Badalucco, which will be used to create ad hoc mixes. It is a very particular gin: 100% Italian, was born from the collaboration of Paolo Boeri, the new recruit of the Roi house, and Davide Pinto, owner of the Affini group. The fundamental contribution of Giustino Ballato, an expert in plants and herbs, gave it its lovely and persistent notes. An excellent product which, as soon as it arrived on the market, in 2018, won the prestigious SIAL Grand Prix in Paris as the most innovative drink in the alcohol category.

Characterized by the encounter between the juniper from Val di Susa and the Taggiasca olive, Taggiasco ExtravirGin perfectly reflects the spirit of the "Portici & Caruggi" evening: in fact, it combines Piedmont and Liguria in its formula in a balance of taste.

Two cocktails created for the event: Porticoes (Taggiasco Gin, marjoram syrup, lemon, albumin and soda) e Caruggi (Taggiasco Gin, sherbet basil and toasted pine nuts, drops of brine, pecorino rind).

The food proposed will celebrate the Genoese caruggi, from farinata to trofie, passing through stuffed calamari; the Turin arcades will be well represented by Affini's selection of vermouths, to be drunk alone or mixed.[:]
