Visionary executive for the Patrón brand for almost 18 years, David Rodriguez worked shoulder to shoulder with legendary Master Distiller Francisco Alcaraz in the production and approval of every single batch of tequila created at the distillery in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.

Alcaraz, Rodriguez's historic mentor, will officially step down this week after a long and distinguished career in which he raised the standards of the tequila category to exceptional levels. Alcaraz has worked with Patrón since the brand's inception, becoming an industry icon with the longest-lasting career as a master distiller in the entire tequila industry thanks to his 50 years of service, of which over 30 with Patrón. During his tenure Alcaraz contributed significantly to Patrón becoming the iconic brand we know today globally, with the production of 2.8 million 9-litre cases worldwide. Alcaraz's achievements range from the creation and definition of PATRÓN's distinctive flavor profile, to the development of the brand's core lines and limited editions, key leadership in the field of innovation and experimentation as well as the role of acclaimed brand ambassador who has enabled the global expansion of the brand.
