[:en]Born as spin-off of Mix Contest, the event that involved more than 60 bartenders in a competition that touched the cities of Turin, Milan, Bologna, Florence and Rome, A Table Cocktail It is an unprecedented format that promises to mix cocktails and gastronomy in a completely new and original way.
THE PREVIOUS
Mix Contest is the event born from an idea by Laura Carello following the creation of the first edition of MT Magazine by Menu à Porter, the guide dedicated to some of the best Cocktail Bars and Hotel Bars in Turin, Milan, Bologna, Florence and Rome.
It is an event that has immediately set itself the objective of putting bartenders and their art under the spotlight, involving them in a competition that saw them challenge each other in the creation of
signature cocktails during 5 events that brought some of the best professionals in Italy to Turin.
The first event saw the bartenders of Turin challenge each other with cocktails, while the subsequent events brought the bartenders of Milan to Eataly Lingotto, the exceptional venue for the competition, followed by those of Bologna, Florence and Rome. Each event elected a pair of winners who on Monday 22 January, again at Eataly Torino Lingotto, challenged each other to win the final victory. The winner was elected by the participating public with their votes and a technical jury composed of experts in the sector.
During the final, an out-of-competition section was set up dedicated to “Un Cocktail da Tavola”, a series of drinks designed and created starting from raw materials typical of gastronomic preparations, with a special focus on the concept of reuse. On Monday 16 April 2018, Un Cocktail da Tavola will become a real event that will unite mixology and haute cuisine in a competition to be savored.
THE FORMAT
A Table Cocktail will take place on Monday 16 April at the NH Collection Piazza Carlina in Turin. It will see 10 Cocktail Bars, represented by their bartender or barlady of reference, compete in the creation of two mixed drinks, one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic. The peculiarity of each cocktail will be that of being composed, in addition to a base, alone and exclusively from products derived from the gastronomic world, as if for one evening the kingdom of bartenders was no longer the counter of a bar but the kitchen of a large restaurant. Each cocktail bar will submit its creations to the public attending the event and to a jury composed of journalists from the sector and professionals in the restaurant and mixology sector, including Rosalba Graglia, food and wine journalist, and Michelin-starred Chef Andrea Larossa of the Larossa Restaurant in Alba, who will be called upon to judge the competitors' cocktails from a gastronomic point of view for combinations, balance and originality.
The competing Cocktail Bars will be the following:
The winner will be chosen by the votes of the public plus those of the technical jury.
The appointment is for Monday 16 April at 7:30 pm at the NH Collection Torino Piazza Carlina.
