Not just any cocktail bar
On the fifth floor of the former Banco di Napoli, in one of Intesa Sanpaolo's Gallerie d'Italia branches, lies Anthill, a unique cocktail and tapas bar in Naples and beyond. The concept, which opened in May 2023, was conceived by chef Giuseppe Iannotti of the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Kresios in Telese (BN), who created sophisticated tapas for this format, paired in a variety of ways with drinks by bar manager Anna Garuti. Anthill is the English translation of anthill, and this embodies the spirit of the establishment: working tirelessly every day, in harmony between the dining room and kitchen, for the benefit of the customer. There are two spaces: a colorful interior room and a verdant terrace overlooking the Gulf of Naples. The drinks menu is served in a unique box reminiscent of a paracetamol, a nod to the historic connection between alcoholic beverages and medicine. The signature cocktails focus on the story of a character or anecdote from Campanian culture and literature, like Giambattista Basile's "Cunto de li cunti." Each cocktail is minimal, and the menu doesn't list the alcohol content, as it's considered a means of conveying the other flavors, not an ingredient.
