[:it]Mix Contest I – Turin II[:]

[:en]It was supposed to be a unique edition, at least in the minds of its creators, but the Mix Contest, which on July 25 saw 10 Turin bartenders compete in the creation of two signature cocktails at the Sala dei Duecento of Eataly Lingotto, is ready to be talked about throughout Italy.

It was created on the occasion of the release of MT Magazine by Menu à Porter, the guide to the most interesting Cocktail Bars in Turin and Milan created by To Be, a Turin-based communications agency that has always found gastronomy, both food and drink, one of its main areas of interest.

The event was such a success with the public that it convinced both To Be and Eataly to export it throughout Italy, with a formula that from now until December will allow bartenders from the best cocktail bars on the peninsula to compete in a competition that will become a fixed and itinerant event in 2018. The best cocktails of each edition will be decided by the public, supported by a technical jury currently being defined that will be composed of leading figures from the world of mixology and beyond.

The new autumn events will start on 19 September 2017 and will follow the thematic path of the first Mix Contest, bringing cocktails to the centre of attention, no longer seen as a simple mix of ingredients but as a study of balances, innovative techniques, recovery and reinterpretation of stories and traditions, imagination that embraces knowledge and becomes a true sensorial journey of which the bartenders are the creators and guides.

The protagonists of the next edition will be Salvatore Romano and Felipe of Barz8, Nicola Agricola and Lorenzo di Vita of Pulp, Michele Marzella and Martina of Affini, Patrick Pizza and Emanuele Russo of NAt, Mario Fecchio of Gran Bar, Umberto Trabaldo and Lorenzo Wein of the Bar of the NH Collection in Piazza Carlina, Jacopo Lucat and Federica Campigotto of La Drogheria, Pierpaolo Cavalli of Zucca and Mirko Turconi of Piano 35 Lounge Bar.

Each event, which will see the participation of bartenders from Turin, Milan, Genoa, Bologna, Florence, Rome and many other Italian cities, will decree two winners who will face each other for the last time in the super final in December. From next year, the event will be held in all the cities previously hosted in Turin, at the Eataly locations present in the area.[:]
